Wayland schools’ bus fleet wins perfect safety rating

Wayland Union Schools’ bus fleet, which numbers 26 buses, received a perfect safety inspection rating by the Michigan State Police this week. A district spokesperson said, “This is due to the hard work and mechanical ability of Steve Kennedy, WUS head mechanic. The buses travel a total of 350,000 miles each school year. Many thanks to the professional and dedicated bus mechanics and drivers for their continued expertise in transporting students to and from school safely. The Transportation Department is under the direction of Brenda Kraima, a former bus driver for Wayland.
