Wayland special education students enjoy graduation

The Wayland High School special education graduation was held Tuesday evening, May 15. Students, staff and two representatives from the Wayland Education Foundation attended. A foundation spokesperson commented, “It was humbling to say the least! So many amazing teachers making a difference in the lives of these students! And the students let me tell you are awesome! First and foremost, they didn’t quit and not only did they not quit but a lot of the students are already enrolled in college in the fall or have plans to work in skilled trades!” The Wayland Union Education Foundation provides a meal annually to help them celebrate, and they dined downtown at Simply Celia’s, across the street from where this photo was taken, at the Henika District Library.
