Wayland Student Council receives 2 state awards

Wayland High School Student Council members attended the State Leadership Conference March 28-30 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City.

The theme of the conference was “Pure Leadership,”  where they listened and were inspired by keynote speakers Kevin Ozar and Heather Schultz, attended center meeting and participated in breakout sessions.

The Wayland Student Council was awarded the Star School Award and the Award of Excellence. The Award of Excellence is the most prestigious in Michigan that a Student Council can receive.  The award exemplifies the highest standards of group organization, member development, community-minded service and goal-oriented vision for their programs. Wayland Student Council member, sophomore Jon Seymour, WHS Student Councilwas elected to the Michigan Student Council Board of Delegates.
