Two powerful forces, cold and windy weather and the Michigan State Police, halted the humorous effort Saturday morning to bubble wrap the 100th Street overpass on the U.S.-131 expressway just north of the Dorr exit. This picture actually is a photoshopped vision expressed by Mike Niemchick of Wayland, who spearheaded the idea of protecting the bridge, which has been the victim of being struck six times in the last year by passing semi-trucks and other vehicles that were too tall to clear the 13 feet, 11 inches. Niemchick himself showed up and videotaped his presence in a nearby parking lot, insisting, “This bridge needs us” and suggesting someone write a folk song telling the sad saga of the 100th Street overpass. Michigan State Police at the Wayland post warned citizens against doing anything to the bridge.(Photo supplied)

Why aren’t the state police pulling trucks over? I guess they don’t what to get out of their car except to get food.
How juvenile. Find something useful to do with your time. Perhaps clean up some of the garbage along that stretch of highway instead.
