The Wayland, Hopkins and Martin school districts all called off school Friday because of a snow dump of heavy wet stuff overnight, causing roads to slippery and treacherous. Though there reportedly was only two to three inches of snow, it was wet and heavy enough to make traveling a challenge, as many vehicles were found on the side of the road and in ditches. Regardless, the high school basketball games scheduled for Friday evening appear to be on because of warming temperatures and rain.
