With the holiday season in full swing, Martin’s JC Wheeler Library is again offering its Festival of Trees.
Decorated by local businesses, organizations and individuals, each tree has its own character and unique aspect.
The Big Rock Music Barn hit a high note with a unique guitar-shaped tree. As in real life, the Martin Public Schools tree is “under bond construction”. Photos of the construction and miniature construction items adorn the tree.
The 20+ decorated trees serve as a fund-raiser for the Friends of the Library. To vote, patrons can put a quarter (or more) into the jar of their favorite tree. The contest runs through Saturday, Dec. 23.
“It has been a great year for the festival,” said Wheeler Library Director Alicia Kershaw, “Come down to the library and take a look.”
Those who are interested in seeing the trees can stop by Monday between noon and 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The trees fill the library’s front area and spill into the community room.
