WHS band has 1st practice on stadium artificial turf

The Wayland High School marching band Tuesday afternoon had the opportunity to rehearse for the upcoming season and practiced for the first time on the renovated Ron Stehouwer football stadium. The field this past summer received an installment of artificial turf under the leadership of Pat Velie, assistant superintendent for finance and operations. In the foreground is Director Kelly Tilley Smith casting watchful eyes and ears on her legions. The theme for this year’s halftime show is “The Greatest Showman.”
