
The Wayland High School boys’ track team cemented its first-place hold in the O-K Gold Conference standings Monday by turning back South Christian and Middleville Thornapple Kelogg. And Evie Mathis tied her personal best effort while winning the pole vault.
However, the girls lost to league champ TK and South Christian.
Highlights of the action Monday afternoon at the Wayland sports complex were:
Boys’ meet:
Landon Dunahoo, 100-meter dash, 11.51 seconds.
Landon Dunahoo 200-meter dash, 22.84, second, Jake Reeder, 23.0.
Dylan Pallett, 3200-meter run, 10:18.97. Took second in the 1600.
Sophomore Alex Hubbard, 110-meter high hurdles, 15.86 seconds, Malachi Rodriguez, second.
Jake Reeder, Maurgan Howard, Brock Wheeler and Landon Dunahoo won 800-meter relay after 400 was disqualified. 1:32.81.
Dylan Pallett, Xander Stepek, Zachary Keena and Breslin Vandenbos won 3200 relay, 8:37.29.
Ashton Kuhlman, shot put, 49-5, second Ashton Kasprowicz.
Adam Huff, discus, 148-4, Kuhlman second , Kasprowicz, Jack Lyons fourth, sweep.
Carter Marquard, high jump, 6-3 personal best. Carter Williamson second.
Justin Springs, long jump, 20-3.5, Cater Maquard second, Carter Williamson third, Cyler VanRhee, fourth.
Girls’ meet:
Sophomore Megan Brogger second in 200 and 400.
Taylor Hoogewind second in discus.
Addyson Moyle first in high jump, 4-10.
Evie Mathis, first in pole vault, tied personal best at 12-6.
