WHS Class of 1955 still has a reunion every 5 years

Alumni, Jack Fox presents the ‘”Most Responsible Members” of the Wayland High School Class of 1955 and Sandra (Keeney)who with her late husband, Jerry Pattock, providing the selfless act of adopting their grandchildren. Unfortunately, Jerry passed away earlier this year. The honor was given to Sandra during the 60th class reunion on July 18 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius, Shelbyville. The Class of ’55 is one of Wayland’s most famous because its basketball team went to the Class C state finals. Its most famous members were Major League pitcher and coach Phil Regan, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive guard Ron Stehouwer, longtime high school basketball coach Harry Hudson and longtime Wayland teacher Daryl Fleser. Class members have gathered every five years, with 21 showing up last Saturday. They insist they’ll have another reunion five years hence. (Photos courtesy of Brandon Halloran)
