The Wayland High School debate team last Wednesday took seven of the top 10 awards and top novice honors at the West Michigan Legislative Debate League competition at Holt High School.
The debate team is coached by Andrea Brown.
Placements were Savannah Weber, 26th place; Rylie Steuer, 15th; Summer Morrison, 11th; Ceavon Smith, 10th; Eli Merren, ninth; Sam VerStrate, eighth; Anabelle Pogodzinski, sixth; Jamie Murray, fourth, and Maddy Probst, third place.
Carissa Yerxa finished in second place and won Top Novice accolades.
