The new and improved Ron Stehouwer football stadium at Wayland High School is just about ready to go for this fall’s football season — if there is one. Construction crews over the summer repaired the dome in the middle of the field and installed artificial turf. However, with football season fast approaching it remains to be seen if the games will be played in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis. The project was paid for using the PA 177 Fund and the Public Improvement Fund established from the Gun Lake Casino revenue. The district has been saving over several years to pay for the $1.5 million dollar project.
