Both the Wayland girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will take part in the annual Cornerstone University Holiday High School Basketball Tournament Dec. 23-30.

Though games start for the tourneys Saturday, the Wildcat boys will not play until Tuesday, Dec. 26, and the girls Thursday, Dec. 28. 

The Wayland boys, now 2-1 overall thus far on the season, will take on Forest Hills Northern at 6 p.m. Tuesday, right after Forest Hills Central plays Spring Lake at 4:30. Gran Rapids Covenant Christian will play Wyoming Godwin Heights at 7:30.

The Lady Wildcats, 1-2 overall thus far on the campaign, will be opposed by Zeeland East at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28. They will be followed by Rockford vs. GR Catholic Central at 6 and GR Christian against Forest Hills Northern at 7:30.

The Wayland boys resume action in the second round at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, with a contest against Spring Lake. Covenant Christian will play Forest Hills Northern at 4:30 that day and Godwin will take on Forest Hills Central in the nightcap, at 7:30.

The Wayland girls will conclude their tourney experience at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, with Forest Hills central providing the competition. Rockford will play Forest Hills Northern at 6 p.m. and Grand Rapids Christian and GR Catholic Central will tangle at 7:30.
