Dilon Aten, a 2015 graduate of Wayland High School, has averaged 2.9 points per game while playing in 25 games for Cornerstone University’s men’s basketball team this season.
The Golden Eagles are 26-5 overall and are rated No. 8 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national poll. Post-season tournament action will begin soon.
Aten has made 7 of 8 free throws for 87.5% and has gathered 58 rebounds.
He scored 1,000 career points in his four-year high school career at Wayland and was an all-conference performer. When he was a junior, he helped lead the Wildcats to a district and regional Class B championship, losing to eventual state champion Milan in the quarterfinals.
