WHS graduate invents Michigan trivia game

Burrell Stein

Luke Stein, son of retired Wayland Mayor Burrell Stein, has developed a Michigan Trivia game, “Yoopers & Trolls.” He is a graduate from Wayland Union Schools and the University of Michigan.

The game is a fun-filled journey across Michigan, targeted to families, friends, or anyone who loves a mix of trivia, strategy and pure Michigander pride. The board game celebrates the Great Lakes State with quirky facts and engaging gameplay.

The game enables players to:

  • Explore Michigan’s landmarks and cultural quirks as you race to claim victory.
  • Answer Michigan-themed trivia questions like identifying Lansing on the Handy Map or naming iconic local legends.
  • Navigate gameplay with a die, unique car tokens, and traffic cones while immersing yourself in the Great Lakes State of mind.

The board game includes:

  • One beautifully designed game board
  • One die and four car tokens
  • Four abridged rules cards for quick learning
  • Five traffic cones used to identify locations on the Handy Map
  • 136 gameplay cards packed with Michigan trivia and fun facts
  • Somewhere in the box, three questions from one card were accidentally used again on another card. It’s all good.
