Wayland High School graduate Sydney Ritz has been named to the second unit of the all-Crossroads League team as a senior playing for Spring Arbor University.

Ritz, who starred in volleyball and basketball for the Lady Wildcats, graduating in 2016, was named for the second consecutive season and picked up her third overall award after receiving honorable mention honors as a sophomore. The senior outside hitter had the best statistical season of her career, posting career-highs in kills (320), digs (278) and blocks (53). Her 320 kills led the Cougars and ranked 11th in the Crossroads League while her 3.1 kills per set ranked fifth in the league. She ranked second on the team with 278 digs, third with 53 total blocks and third with 18 aces.

Ritz racked up 924 kills over her four-year career. She also finished with 534 digs and 138 blocks.

The Cougars finished the season with an overall record of 6-21.
