Wayland High School graduate and Davenport University junior pitcher Mallory Teunissen has earned NCAA Division II All-Academic accolades.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Softball Team was selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. She boasted a cumulative grade point average of 3.92 this year and is majoring in Human Resource Management.

Over the 2018 season, Teunissen earned GLIAC Pitcher of The Week three times, All-GLIAC First Team, NFCA All-Region First Team and CoSIDA All-District. In addition to these accolades, she broke the single season record for most complete games (28), most innings pitched (213.1), most strikeouts looking (62), and tied the single season record in wins (25) and shutouts (11), all during the 2018 season.

Teunissen was all-state in Division 2 as pitcher for the state champion Wayland softball team in 2015.
