Todd Meconis, a Wayland High School graduate and former Wildcat wrestling standout, has completed the 100-mile run in the Pinhoti Endurance 100 in Alabama. His sister, Shannon Meconis Myers, said, ” I told him how crazy he was, he can’t train in nine weeks, he won’t have a crew with him, his wife just had a baby… His response was that this race is doable without a crew because there are so many aid stations. Talking to him Friday night I was completely convinced he would drop and I think he was thinking the same thing… He finished in 28:30. My Mom (Betty Meconis) said when he crossed the finish line he said he was done with 100 mile races. Well, that’s the same thing he said when he finished the Leadville 100!”
