Wayland High School juniors and seniors Monday took part in a “Court in School” program at the Fine Arts Center. This program is designed to give students the experience of seeing the multiple sides and responsibilities of the court system, including judge, prosecutor, defense, court reporters, etc.) while also deterring them from some of the common offenses students their age typically commit and are prosecuted for. These are real court cases, with real consequences! (all misdemeanors). Chief Allegan County District Court Judge William A. Baillargeon (center) presided over the cases.
