The Wayland High School marching band earned a Division 1 (excellent) rating Tuesday evening. The local ensemble, under the direction of Kelly Tilley Smith, and Martin’s band, led by director Noah Miller, took part in the first-ever Michigan Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) district festival held in Wayland.
