Members of the Wayland Robotics team (FRC 6090), consisting of Jordan Fitzgerald, Alex Sobiesczyk, Ian Russell and Dawson Merice, were awarded $1,000 for their submission in a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) competition to design a Moon Lander during the off season. It provided an opportunity to fine tune the skills that would be needed for the upcoming robotics season. They competed against other FIRST robotics teams nationwide to design a lander like the one used to land on the moon using an online collaborative CAD software called xDesign. They were given four weeks to design and submit their idea.
