WHS senior’s Eagle Scout project a shelter for soccer players

Wayland High School senior TTrent Thelen Eaglerenton Thelen has completed his Eagle Scout project by constructing two shelters at the soccer field, one each for home and visitor players. He has worked about 100 hours planning, drawing up the plans, getting approval, shopping, prepping and completing the project.

Thelen, who was with Dorr Troop 90, has been involved with the counting program since he was in first grade.

He played soccer and competed in swimming and track for four years. He is currently dual enrolled at Davenport University, planning to major in Bio-Chem, though he is undecided on what college he will attend this fall.
