WHS Student Council coordinating fund-raiser Friday at football game

The Wayland High School Student Council is coordinating a charity-fund-raiser during this Friday night’s home football game against Forest Hills Eastern.

For “Family, Friends and Heroes,” each of the Wayland players will be playing for someone who has made an impact on their life. All proceeds will go to Pine Rest Christian Hospital.

Those who have bought a T-shirt do not have to pay to get into the game. There are a few shirts left at $10 each. Contact Becky Hohnke at the school.

There will be a football throwing contest. It will be $1 per throw to try and make it in. If you make it in there will be a prize!

Organizers also will do miracle minutes between the first and second quarter. Student Council members will be walking around with buckets to get any donations people want to give to support Pine Rest.

There are a couple of extra jerseys that are the same as the players will be wearing that they will have a silent auction for.

“If you can’t make it to the game and would like to make a monetary donation, reach out to me by Thursday and I can get you in contact with someone to make a donation,” Hohnke said.
