The Wayland boys’ and girls’ varsity bowling squads Monday afternoon both defeated Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills, 26-4, and 30-0, respectively.
Ottawa Hills didn’t have any lady bowlers, so that was an easy win by default for the Lady Wildcats, who have lost only one dual match, to Zeeland, and remain undefeated in O-K Gold Conference matches this season.
The highlight for the girls was Baker game 2, which was a 196 combined team effort
In match one, anchor Brianna Hyde rolled a 171, Kadence Bottrall 211, and Bella Harnish 227. In game two it was Brianna Hyde 158, Kadence Bottrall 176 and Bella Harnish 184.
The Wildcat boys came up with 143 – 129 and 184 – 121 victories in the Baker games. Mark Musgrave III was the only Wildcat to cover all four of his frames.
Deven Gardner, Juan Rodriguez, and Mark Musgrave (176) all took points and total pins as well (by only 13 pins!) to push the score to 17-2 and assure victory.
Carson Beck, Aydin Tolliver (170) both took points in the second matchup and the rest were so close that the ‘Cats took total pins (by only 15 pins) as well.
