While the Wayland girls’ varsity bowling team cruised to victory over Forest Hills Eastern, the boys’ squad had to settle for a 15-15 tie.
Forest Hills Eastern can only field two girls, so it was a merry romp of 30-0.
Wayland won both baker games and then everyone got to bowl a game. Breanna Hyde (187) took both her points as did Haven Baker (175), Juliette Chapelain and Kadence Bottrall. Kadence was high roller with 238 and 216 games. Other Wildcat girls got experience bowling on the other team to balance out the pacing of the games. (Their scores don’t count for the other team).
Wayland boys’ coach Sherry Miklusicak said was hopeful with her group being ahead 11-8 going into the last game.
“The tenth frame determined it all tonight,” she remarked. “Forest Hills Eastern lit it up and we didn’t, so it was a come from behind tie.”
The Wildcats won the first baker game, but lost the second baker along with total pins.
In match one Aydin Tolliver, Jayse Henkel, and Kyle VanEss all took their points by enough pins to take game total as well. Dominik Baker had a really good 178 game, followed by Chandler Caruso’s 165.
Match two was close the entire game, but Waylandcame up short. Taking points this game were Aydin Tolliver (196), Dominik Baker (204).
The coach said, “Total Pins for both match one and match two was taken by Wayland by only 20 pins. That is just two spares or strikes…”
