About 30 members of the Wayland varsity football team Monday did a little community service in the area in the wake of last weekend’s storms. Head coach Mike Doupe and players used their physical strength to move overturned tree limbs that came down Saturday. They stopped in at local residents’ houses to provide services on a first-c0me, first-served basis. Dorr attorney Margaret Webb said, “So proud of my nephew Connor and the entire Wayland Union football team! Last week was probably the worst week ever in these young kids lives as they had to say good-bye to their teammate (Ethan Mutschler) and one of their best friends. And yet on Monday they were helping the Wayland community with storm clean-p! Such great kids and I couldn’t be prouder to call one of them mine!”
