Wayland High School freshman Xander Stepek took first place Sunday morning in the annual Woldumar 5K fund-raising race near Lansing. Stepek, son of Steve and Erin Stepek of Wayland, has been the No. 3 runner on the Wayland High School varsity cross-country team this fall. The Wildcats’ season has ended with Saturday’s state Division 2 competition.
