The Wayland girls’ basWHS basketballketball team moved up to No. 3 this week in the Associated Press top 10 state-wide poll and the Wildcat boys, despite two recent losses, have been able to hang on at No. 6.

The girls switched places with Grand Rapids Catholic Central, the team they edged 77-76 i9n double overtime last Friday night. Catholic, which last week was No. 3, fell to fifth, which is where Wayland was a week ago.

Wayland, now 11-0 overall for the season, will be at Hastings Tuesday evening (Jan. 27) in its fourth O-K Gold Conference encounter this season.

The Wildcat guys absorbed two frustrating three-point losses on the road at Middleville Thornapple Kellogg and Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills, and are now 8-2 for the season overall. They will enterytain Hastings this evening.
