The Wayland boys‘ varsity golf team opened its season Friday with a one-stroke loss to Byron Center, 164-165, at the Railside Golf Club.

“It was a great day to play golf (although very windy) on Friday and the scores were great too,” said coach Chris Drew.

Wayland was led by sophomores Rory Myers with a 38 and Carson Sevigny with a 40.

The Wildcats won’t be back in action until after spring break, on Monday, April 17.
