The Wayland High School junior varsity extended its winning streak to five Thursday evening by turning back Middleville Thornapple Kellogg 48-25.
Coach Coralie Miller’s Wildcats have not lost since Dec. 16 against Caledonia and now have a 7-2 record overall.
Miller said, “We put a whole game together and outplayed them on both ends of the floor. We won by over 20, but it felt closer then that because TK continued to press and double team us.
“They were missing a guard who I expect to return for the second time we play them.”Wayland led 14-7, 27-11 and 40-19 at the period stops.
Taryn Coughlin led the offensive attack with 20 points and made 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
Sam Niewkoop had 10 points and 4 rebounds Bethany Teunissen six points and four rebounds
and Jenae Muschler five rebounds.
