The Wayland softball started off strong in their home conference opener Monday after against West Catholic, sweeping a doubleheader, 10-0 and 23-4.
The player of the game was senior Mackenzie Kositzky, who recorded two doubles, a homerun, five runs batted in, and a batting average of .600.
The Lady Wildcats evened their season record at 2-2 and they are 2-0 in the O-K Gold Conference.
