The Wayland boys’ golf team finished fourth in the first O-K Gold Conference jamboree of the season Tuesday at the Gracewill Golf Course.
Hastings finished first in the meet with a team score of 157 and South Christian was second at 160. Wayland recorded a score of 173, just a stroke better than Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
“The OK-Gold Conference looks to be very competitive this season,” said coach Chris Drew. “With only 17 strokes between the first and last team, the scores are tight.”
Wayland was lead by freshmen Rory Myers who fired a 40. Jake Omness was second on the team with a 41. The score of 173 was completed with a 45 from Robert Mucci and 47 from Ethan Pawloski.
