Cory Ainsworth

The Wayland High School boys’ varsity basketball team had a bit of deja vu Saturday afternoon in the annual I-96 basketball challenge at Ottawa Hills High School. Not only did the Wildcats defeat a Detroit area team for the second year in a row, 57-44, but also 6-8 senior center Cory Ainsworth again was selected Most Valuable Player for the game, scoring 29 points and gathering 11 rebounds. Ternor Hudson added 10 points and Wayland beat a Sterling Heights Stevenson team that was 4-0 and in so doing improved its season record to 2-1 overall.
