The Wayland High School varsity baseball team won its final regular season contest Friday over Allegan  by a score of 4-2.

This was the Wildcats’ seventh win in their last eleven games, as they hope to stay hot for tournament play.

Travis Cutler started on the mound, pitching the first 2 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out four. Kayd Hulst entered in relief and picked up the win, going 4 2/3 innings, allowing no runs, no hits while striking out four.

Leading the offensive attack were Mitch Dykstra, Chris Kincaid and Carter Morse. Dykstra went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Kincaid was 4-for-4 with a double. Morse finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Wayland finished the regular season with a 14-22 record overall.
