The Wayland varsity football team Friday night absorbed its second straight defeat, 26-0 to East Grand Rapids, after winning its first three contests this season.
The Wildcats have scored only once in the last eight quarters, that on a touchdown with less than a minute left in a 44-7 loss a week ago to undefeated Middleville Thornapple Kellogg. East Grand Rapids, defending champion in the O-K Gold Conference, now is 3-2 overall, as is Wayland.

Wayland, which now sports a 1-2 record in the O-K Gold Conference, will play at Forest Hills Eastern next Friday.
