The Wayland boys’ varsity soccerWHS soccer team dropped a difficult road game Thursday night 5-2 to O-K Gold Conference rival Forest Hills Eastern.

Despite taking the lead on a goal by Hunter Nousen, the Wildcats found themselves behind 3-1 at halftime. They yielded three consecutive goals in the last 10 minutes of the half.

“Despite the tough end to the half, the boys came out strong and were unlucky not to have brought the score closer early in the second half,” coach Ben Sleeman said.

Chuck Wroblewski scored his eighth goal of the season late in the game but it wasn’t quite enough in the end.

Keeper Jake Larsen made eight saves in the loss, which has left Wayland with a record of 2-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the league.
