The Wayland boys’ golf team dropped a 159-165 nonleague dual match to Caledonia Tuesday in its season opener at the Broadmoor Country Club.

“It was a cold and windy day at Broadmoor,” said coach Chris Drew. “This was the first match of the year for the Wildcats, and they did well in those conditions.”

Wayland was led by senior Mitch Salisbury with a 39 and junior Carson Sevigny with a 40. Then there were three Wildcats with 43s, Rory Myers, Cayd Vermaat, and Tyler Omness.

The team will be begin the busiest part of there season this weekend with nine matches in 15 days.
