The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team, despite two losses in seven games this season, was ranked No. 8 in the first state-wide Associated Press Class B poll.
The Wildcats have been impressive in their victories, but they lost by two points to Wyoming Godwin Heights in the final round of the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament last month and they were defeated by O-K Gold Conference rival Grand Rapids Christian last Tuesday. Godwin is rated No. 1 in the Class B poll and GR Christian is No. 2 in Class A.
Wayland will resume O-K Gold Conference play tonight at Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
