Wayland’s quest for its third state softball championship and its 37-game winning streak came to an end in the regional finals of the Division 2 tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats lost a 2-1 extra inning thriller to Stevensville Lakeshore to see their remarkable season concluded with an overall record of 37-2.
