‘Wimpy’ winter drops 6-10 inches of snow in West Michigan

West Michigan was a winte12742295_10205808285432086_3488037481358427771_nr wonderland again Wednesday in a winter that’s been called “wimpy.” Many local residents were hunkering down for the storm, which shut down schools early Wednesday afternoon and more was expected to fall Wednesday night and into Thursday. Hopkins, Martin and Wayland public schools all were closed Thursday. Some weather forecasters were calling for between six and ten inches of the white stuff, which was hard on snow blowers because of its moisture. Many had to switch the shovels.
