Winter, snow finally make an appearance

There were many people who have been wondering when the first snow would hit West Michigan, and the answer was overnight Wednesday, Nov. 20, and Thursday morning, Nov. 21. A blanket of two to three inches fell in northeast Allegan County and yards of residences were well covered, but the roads essentially were clear. The white stuff began to disappear from lawns, like this one in Dorr, by the time early afternoon arrived and temperatures began to climb. However, the high temp barely cleared 40 degrees, with prospects of warmer weather Friday and into the weekend.
