Area school districts announced early Tuesday afternoon that all evening activities for Jan. 14, were called off because of inclement snowy weather. Among the cancellations was the sixth grade concert at the Wayland High School Fine Arts Center, community education classes, all sporting events/practices and a PTO meeting. Other customary Tuesday activities, such as the Christian Neighbors food pantry, were called off. Meanwhile, the southbound U.S.-131 expressway (see photo above) was closed in Allegan County between Exit 50 (106th Avenue) and Exit 55 (116th Avenue / M222) because of serveral traffic crashes.
