Wayland Middle School students took Cha Cha lessons this week as part of their World Language Month activities. Chelsea Robinson (at right) from Sisters Three School of Dance in Wayland taught the class in the cafeteria after school. This activity, sponsored by the Wayland Union Education Foundation Grant, was one of many held throughout the year and was coordinated by Spanish teacher Nikkia Robinson. Other events at the middle school during World Language Month were digital media culture facts with daily prizes that include gift bags filled with global goodies and the showing of The Lego Movie with chips and queso. The high school events, coordinated by Rochelle Scullion and Sarah Rollandini, held “Culture Shock Facts” with foreign exchange students, the movie “Selena,” salsa dancing lessons, and open interviews with speakers from the Dominican Republic and the deaf community.
