Ellie Kay Haitov. 27, has been charged with assaulting a federal police officer at the Gun Lake Casino.

She had to appear in federal court after being accused of head-butting the officer because the casino is on federal land.

According to an FBI agent, Gun Lake Department of Public Safety Officer James Green was summoned Wednesday night to the casino in Bradley after Haitov was denied any more alcohol, refused to leave and then directed profanities at security.

Green reported she smelled of alcohol, was slurring her speech and demonstrated an unsteady gait. He said he attempted to  secure her a safe ride home but she persisted with unruly behavior and shouting profanities. He and another officer eventually arrested her for trespassing and being drunk and disorderly.

The officer finally was able to get Haitov into a cruiser, but when he tried to buckle her in, she kicked him in the chest twice and head-butted him, causing him to suffer injuries.

Because Haitov refused to take a breathalyzer when she arrived at the jail, her blood alcohol content was only .02 by the time it finally was administered the next morning.
