Ashley Ashbrook, 30, who was wanted for providing heroin to a Wayland man who overdosed on the drug last fall, has been taken into custody.
Authorities said Ashbrook was arrested by Grand Rapids police Wednesday. She is charged with delivery of a controlled substance causing death, providing heroin Oct. 3 to her former neighbor, Julius Lehmoine, 28, on West Superior Street.
Charges against her were filed after an investigation, which included lengthy toxicology testing, by the West Michigan Enforcement Team. When stopped in October on the day of Lehmoine’s death, she also had suspected heroin and amphetamine in her possession.
Charges in the five-count felony warrant include delivery of a controlled substance causing death, delivery of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver amphetamine, possession of heroin, and possession of analogues. The charges have a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Her arraignment in the 57th District Court was held Friday. Bond was set at $20,000.
Ashbrook reportedly was spotted by a man who claims she assaulted him in a car near Leonard Street and Alpine Avenue.
