Patterson Road just south of M-179 was closed to through traffic starting Monday, Oct. 3. The Inter-County Drain Commission was installing a new culvert on the small bridge over the Cuddy Drain, so neither Allegan nor Barry counties are handling the project. The detour around the construction is lengthy, but school officials were notified in plenty of time for buses to plan alternative routes. Some drivers have been disregarding the signs and driving south on Patterson and then having to turn around. One resident at the site said some vehicles turning around have been ruining her property as a result. The work is expected to be completed by the end of November.
