EDITOR’S NOTE: A recent column I wrote has prompted questions about how much money the Township Board awards to the Dorr Township Library. Dorr Township Clerk Debbie Sewers has sent along this clarification:

“The Dorr Township Library is part of Dorr Township, but not its only source of revenue. The township pays for utilities, land and building improvements and repairs, insurance and maintenance wages on the building with a total budget of $81,900 (this includes a quarterly appropriation totaling $50,000 per year). The Library Board manages the use of the $50,000.”
