The editor of this publication owes a sincere apology to Wayland Board of Education President Cinnamon Mellema for incorrectly saying in an editorial she declined to cast a vote for the hiring of new Superintendent Christina Hinds.
Ms. Mellema did indeed vote for Dr. Hinds. The editor somehow misunderstood a part of the proceedings of the meeting last Thursday evening, leading to the publication of a false conclusion.
Ms. Mellema, when contacted, acknowledged she had a terrible time deciding between Dr. Hinds and Patricia Velie, assistant superintendent of finance and operations, but eventually opted for the former candidate.
