The Yankee Springs Township Fire Department held a special recognition event for Deputy Chief Dan Miller recently, commemorating his 50 years in fire service. Miller, besides being deputy chief at Yankee Springs, started his police career as a patrolman i n 1973 and later was elevated to chief of police for the City of Wayland. He was terminated in 2012, but since then has taken over duties as chief executive officer at the Yankee Springs station and department.

Those of us who have known Dan for these many years know him as a man of character and integrity. He has lived his life in service to others.
The Miller family has served this area for years. Thanks to every one, but especially Dan who is honored for his years of service in this post.
The Wayland/Yankee Springs partnership that came to be with Dan’s leadership has been a valuable asset to the YS community. Thank you Dan for all you do and continue to do, you are so appreciated.
