A lot of people fondly remember Laura Velderman as a Hopkins High School track and cross-country star who qualified for the state meet in both sports. Today, she is Marine Sgt. Laura Velderman Henricks, who just recently promoted to her present rank after serving in the Marines for a little more than two years. She graduated as a Marine from Hopkins High School in 2019.
