Ron and Linda Lannon owners of the Rock ’N Bowl establishment just north of the City of Wayland on Division Avenue announced they hope to sell the bowling business.

The Lannons bought Rock ’N Bowl six years ago from Jack Templin, replacing the old Airport Lanes that had been in business for more than 75 years. They have remodeled the lanes and provided the host site for the Wayland and Martin High School bowling teams.

The couple insisted they are not closing, and if it doesn’t sell, they will keep it open.

Wayland High School boys’ bowling coach Sherry Miklusicak said the Lannons have been serious boosters of the local high school teams and they have put together leagues for adult men and women on weeknights.

“I have met one of the new owners and they are planning on some really fun renovations!” Miklusicak posted in 2018. “The bathrooms will be completely redone. There are two large screen TVs coming and a new speaker system. All new counters and cabinets are planned.

“One of the owners is a Wayland High School graduate and they have family in the area. I had some of their nieces and nephews in class.”

Templin purchased the business from Doug Flick several years ago. The establishment was owned long ago by Haven Tarnutzer. Miklusicak, who grew up not far away, used to work and bowl at Airport Lanes more than three decades ago.
